Banana Bread with Cream Cheese Filling
Ingredients
For Bread
- 2 Smashed Bananas
- ¼ Cup Sour Cream Substitute: Plain or Vanilla Greek Yogurt
- 1 Egg
- 1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
- ¼ Cup Vegetable Oil Substitute: Olive or Coconut Oil
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla Bean Paste Substitute: Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- ½ tsp Baking Powder
- ½ tsp Baking Soda
- ¼ tsp Salt
For Cream-Cheese Filling
- 1 Egg
- ½ Cup Granulated/White Sugar
- 4 oz Cream Cheese (Half of a Cream Cheese Brick)
- 3 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉
- Prepare a loaf pan by spraying it with cooking spray.
- Mix the bread's wet ingredients (Bananas, Sour Cream, Egg, Dark Brown Sugar, Vegetable Oil, Vanilla Bean Paste).
- Add dry ingredients (Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Salt) until combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine the cream cheese filling ingredients (Egg, Sugar, Cream Cheese, Flour).
- Fill the bread pan with a little over half of the bread batter & set aside.
- Using a spoon or a spatula, place the cream cheese mixture over the bread batter in the bread pan in dollops. Spread evenly, being sure not to push the filling down.
- Add the rest of the bread filling on top of the cream cheese mixture to the bread pan.
- Place the bread pan on the center rack of your preheated oven & bake for 45 minutes. If the bread still needs more time to cook, check on it 5 minute increments.
